Vita Coco Flavors and Reviews

100% Pure Coconut Water
100% pure coconut water is Vita Coco's most popular flavor. I happen to like this one the most and drink it everyday, mostly as a substitute for sodas and other juices. I've always heard mixed reviews about the flavor of the pure coconut water, mostly on the positive side. Every once in a while, I'll hear somebody say it has a metallic taste that they don't like. In my experience I have only experienced this metallic taste once, and it wasn't a Vita Coco product. Since this experience, I have tried this other coconut water brand a few times, and did not taste the metallic flavor described. I would have to attribute that flavor to faulty packaging or maybe from sitting in the heat for too long, I really don't know. Anywho, if my humble opinion matters, I like how the 100% pure coconut water tastes. It has a mild sweetness and does remind me of a coconut "like" flavor, but, not overpowering or sweet. When I describe how coconut water tastes, I tell people that it tastes like the milk at the bottom of a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios, but with a texture more like water, instead of milk. … [Read More...]

Vita Coco Acai & Pomegranate Review with Nutrition Facts
We'll start this review with a quote directly from the Vita Coco Acai & Pomegranate coconut water box. "Listen up! Most people may think that free is good. Sure if it's free food, free money or free shoes. But free radicals are bad, they cause wear and tear on your cells. Who wants that? (Probably, no one.) That's why pomegranate and acai have joined forces to provide you with a coconut water rich in antioxidants. Think of it as a little uperhero kicking one free radical butt at a time. Now you can breethe easy... So hydrate yourself, and go back to mooching fee wi-fi from your neighbor." Most acai and pomegranate beverages are too overwhelming, the flavors are always too concentrated. What I like about Vita Coco Acai & Pomegranate is that the flavor is much more mile. The acai is the dominant flavor but the coconut water really mellows it out. Breakfast shakes with the Vita Coco Acai & Pomegranate coconut water, frozen blueberries, bananna, peanut butter, and oatmeal are awesome, and an insane antioxidant boosting beverage. Vita Coco Peach & Mango Review
Vita Coco Peach and Mango Coconut Water is great because you can actually taste both flavors. There's a very distinct mango and peach flavor, again, without either flavor being too overpowering or sweet. The first thing I thought of when I tasted this were the mangos from my Auntie Grace's mango tree in Hawai'i. I was a poor college student over there and, her and my Uncle Don, would regularly bring me a full grocery bag full of the best mangos. I also thought of the peaches from my grandmother's backyard in southern California, where I grew up. I would make the best ice cream shakes with those peaches. Again, Vita Coco has it down. This tastes great (it really does remind me of good quality, fresh mango and peach) and it's not too sweet. This goes well mixed with vodka, and I have a great breakfast shake recipe with frozen peaches and banannas that you have to checkout as well. In addition, the kids will love the Vita Coco peach and mango coconut water all by itself and you can feel good about not giving them some garbage, loaded with unnatural sugar and additives. Here are the nutrition facts for an 8.5 ounce serving of the Vita Coco peach and mango coconut water: Calories 50 Fat 0, Trans fat 0 Cholesterol 0 Sugars 15 g natural sugar 500 mg of potassium, about the same as 2.5 banannas Vitamin C 175% daily intake based on 2,000 calorie diet Here's a quote from the Vita Coco peach and mango box: "The Original Power Couple - Introducing Peach and Mango. Hoping to join the ranks of celeb couples such as Brangelina, Tomkat and Cashica, Peach and Mango are considering being called Peacho, Pango, or Meaches. Sure the paparazzi have yet to pick up on the story, but it's just a matter of time. So until then we'll just stick to Vita Coco Peach and Mango. Stay hydrated and enjoy." … [Read More...]

Vita Coco Pineapple Review
Wow! I've never liked pina coladas, until I came across this drink. Don't get me wrong, the taste of pina coladas aren't so bad, but they're too sweet, and I can only enjoy about two sips of them. Until now, I never would've considered any pina colada tasting drink for a refreshing treat, or to re-hydrate with after working out. Vita Coco pineapple coconut water is a game changer when it comes to any beverage resembling a pina colada. It has a very smooth and subtle, pina colada flavor, yet it's not too sweet. It's good to drink on the go, the kids love pina colada beverages, and, you can serve this in place of, or in, alcoholic beverages. I just got home from the gym and drank a 17 oz tetra pak (that's what they're packaged in) of the Vita Coco pineapple, with my post-gym meal. Like I mentioned above, I can only take so much pina colada taste or sweetness. Not once during my meal, did I think that any of the flavors were too overbearing or, that it was too sweet. My next venture for Vita Coco pineapple coconut water will be to do some experimenting with cocktail, breakfast shake and shaved ice recipes. Here are the nutrition facts for for the Vita Coco pineapple for an 8.5 ounce serving: 60 calories 0 fat 0 trans fat 0 cholesterol 515 mg of potassium (same as 2.5 banannas) Vitamin C 180% of daily intake based on 2,000 calorie diet. 16 grams of all natural sugar Here is a quote from Vita Coco on the box of the pineapple coconut water. "Ahh!!! Pina Colada...Just saying brings back memories of the last vacation. So say it again...PINA CO-LA-DA. Yep there it is, the pool, the sun and you thinking..."Damn I look fine." Sure you may be confined to a cubicle working for the man or driving a mini-van packed with screaming kids to soccer practice, but this pina colada, is like your best friend. It's there when you need it most and it'll always remind you of the better days (before you sold out). So sit back, hydrate yourself and enjoy." … [Read More...]
